About the event

Art can be informative and insightful, with the potential to tap into new awareness of questions and wonderings we may have on our life path. Art making together with others deepens this experience and brings the healing aspect of supportive witnessing to one's experience. Come join us for this fun filled arts workshop as we play with a variety of materials to create a series of several art projects throughout the day, inclusive of mandalas and collage. There will be a break for lunch- brown bag, or on your own. We will weave between community art as we create art pieces with others, as well as time spent on individual art. Perfect for all experience levels!

About the Instructor: Lynn A. Underwood, MA, is an expressive arts therapist and coach, educator, consultant, certified trauma practitioner and certified yoga instructor. Lynn has worked in a variety of settings, with both children and adults healing from the effects of domestic violence, substance abuse, grief, emotional trauma, and physical and sexual abuse. Through expressive art therapy, Lynn helps individuals realize their creative potential, set life goals, increase self esteem, and feel empowered to embark on positive life change. In private practice and through workshops, she has taught clients and therapists to enhance creativity, foster personal growth, embrace spirituality, cope with grief, build effective teams, and implement therapeutic art modalities into their practice. She has facilitated workshops for the Betty Ford Center, The California Arts Project, and Mahec Education and Training Center. Lynn was featured in the November 2010 issue of “Explore”, an alternative healing periodical and is currently at work on her book titled “Expressions of Recovery”. Lynn received her BA in Psychology and teaching credential from Sonoma State University in CA and her MA in Expressive Arts Therapy from European Graduate School in Switzerland.
